Last week, we were approached by two new clients- one in the legal sector and one in mental health. The former had asked us to assist them in sourcing an interpreter for a family court hearing for the following day, having been let down last minute by another provider. We lined up an interpreter only to be told they’d found another solution. Fast forward a couple of weeks and the same client contacts us again requesting an interpreter for the same language for another hearing. “It turned out that the interpreter we used last time had never interpreted in a courtroom in her life!” he said.
The mental health client came to us because the linguist sent by another interpreting agency was getting too personally involved in the patient’s care.
It’s unfortunate that these clients did not get the desired outcome from their interpreter services, but we were pleased to be able to rectify the situation. If you work with interpreters, we would love to hear from you!

As a linguist-led business, we ask all the right questions so we can meet your needs perfectly (what dialect of Arabic do you want? Is it Pakistani or Indian Punjabi you need? 4/ GMYW has a strict “one strike and you’re out policy”.
In the rare event that we receive a complaint about one of our interpreters, we follow it up and do not assign that interpreter to the same client again. Depending on the severity of the complaint, we will remove them immediately from our register.
5/ Our commitment to offering fair terms and conditions means our interpreters are motivated to provide the best possible service to our clients.
